Machine Head Retrospective (Part 4): Supercharger - RPC Jukebox #12
Previously on RPC Jukebox, Captain Kaye and Nick touched down at the third album in their series on Machine Head, and gave it the benefit of the doubt. And now... they get SUPERCHARGED about Supercharger!
How’s it going, fellow Renegades? THE DIRECTOR is back to bring you guys the most rockin’ podcast we’ve got this side of the Renegade Pop Culture Website!
And man, do Captain Kaye and Nick got a doozy of an episode for you guys. Through everything, they’ve been surprisingly upbeat and positive when it comes to Machine Head’s career. They acknowledged their second album doesn’t match the Sophomore slump, and were even kind to their third album which doesn’t have as many fans.
But what will it take for them to get angry? What would it take for them to go at the band like a Bulldozer?
Well, spoiler alert… 9/11 is involved. BUT, they go ahead and dive into what is considered the biggest failure of their whole discography… commercially, and critically. Listen, and hear the decimation of this album crash all around you!
That’ll do it for this episode! Special thanks to Jacob for editing this episode! Slip out your zippo lighter and hold it high, because an encore of a podcast could be coming your way very… very soon.
The Dirt: A Motley Crue Retrospective is back on Renegade Jukebox. This time Nick & Mike cover one of the albums they've ever made, Theatre Of Pain. Yeah that joke is played out, but it's going to get more plays than this album will. Listen to find out why!
The first Why We Love This Band of the year, and one in development for a long time! Nick and Mike are here to do an episode of Belgian death metal horror geeks Aborted. In this episode, Mike and Nick continue their journey through the discography of Motley Crüe, from the perspective of two metalheads who haven't heard the majority of their albums in full. They travel back to 1983 to discuss the band's 2nd studio album, Shout at the Devil!
Renegade Jukebox is back with another retrospective series. This time, instead of 1 mega star in Limp Bizkit, Nick and Mike are making one on 4 big cults of personality in the world of heavy metal. This series will go through each album by Motley Crue, from the perspective of two metalheads who haven't heard the majority of their albums in full. We begin with their 1981 debut, Too Fast For Love.
In this episode, Mike, Brock, and Bri are joined by former members Keona and Jacob for old times' sake. Buckle up, because there are no rails on this train!
On this episode of Why We Love This Band, remember when My Space deathcore took the world by storm? Well, Job For A Cowboy would rather you didn't (and we'd tend to agree). So Nick & Mike decide to mainly cover their 4 studio albums and why they've aged like fine expertly crafted death metal wine! And get some jabs in at Blue Ridge Rock Festival on the process!
