Read MoreRandy here with an update from the frontlines of the GPU Wars! With the release of Nvidia’s latest set of graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 30 series comes both good news and bad news. In short, the good news is that they’re awesome! The bad news is that some users are experiencing issues while playing games. That is, if they’re lucky enough to even find one of the 3080s or 3090s to buy in retail stores! <Sigh> Yet another tech shortage. Goodie.

This time around, I’m going to discuss Artemis & the Assassin, Gotham Central, X-Men, Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team, Sandman, Lonely Receiver, and Marauders, so we have an eclectic mix to get through! Suit up and get ready to fly, everyone!
Read MoreWhether the Academy can have this ceremony in a physical space or they will have to go virtual like every other award season so far this year, I'm looking forward to having a whole slate of movies to watch during the next few months leading up to it. It will also be the first Oscars season where they are implementing their new standards of diversity and inclusion for their nominees, so expect another incredible victory for misrepresented groups after Parasite winning Best Picture, so don't expect another Green Book situation anytime soon. It also explains the revealing stories of most of the movies that Variety predicts will be the frontrunners for the top prize. If the amazing buzz that these flicks have elicited is any indication, this will be a superb lineup and I can't wait to watch every one of them either in my living room or in the theater when it's safe.
Read MoreNeoplasmic here, with some thoughts on Blake J. Harris’ excellent non-fiction novel, Console Wars! Nostalgic, informative, and fast-paced to the point that I could barely put it down, Console Wars recounts the years-long battle for video game industry dominance between Nintendo (the big N, perennially in control of the market) and Sega (the scrappy, edgy underdog). Whichever one you owned or rooted for back then, the competition between both entities certainly resulted in an exciting time for those of us who remember the first Console War. Suit up, click the link, and be ready to enter the front lines!

Read MoreHey, all! Your friendly neighborhood RPC founder and EIC, Neoplasmic, here. Just thought I’d write out some stuff about our video game content and rating system and what we love to do here. As you’ve no doubt discovered by listening to our awesome Renegade Arcade podcast, we love games, and we want to be clear about how we choose the games we cover, how we review them, and what our scores mean.
Read MoreHere it is, at long last: our review of The Last of Us Part 2! A word of warning, however… as there are SPOILERS AHEAD! Since launching two weeks ago, this game has seen a lot of criticism and controversy over its themes, characters, and design. So what’s our verdict? Read on and find out!
Read MoreBoth Iron Man 3 and Thor The Dark World were released in 2013. Meanwhile, Warner Bros and DC had launched their cinematic universe with Man of Steel in that year as well, which was met with a disappointingly small box office intake and less than stellar critical reception. Many of the complaints lobbied against Zack Snyder's take on Superman were about how downbeat and overly bleak it was.
Read MoreThe Avengers was by no means the first film to cross different characters from different series together in one film. Freddy vs Jason, Alien vs Predator, Zatoichi and the One-Armed Soldier, King Kong vs Godzilla, and Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman, just to name a few. But what it was the first of this kind of movie to treat like a serious stepping stone for its characters’ arc. It didn’t just bring these heroes together because it would be fun to see that. It brought them together because that’s why they made them in the first place.
Read MoreWelcome, fellow Star Wars geeks (and even those of you who aren’t!), to another episode of our general discussion podcast, the Free For All with Jacob, Mike, Josh, Kristal, and Keona! This week on the show, we dissect the Rise of Skywalker even further, dive deep into Captain America: Civil War, chat about Universal’s troubles with the North American Theater Owners (NATO), and we talk about the relevance of the Simpsons in today’s world. It’s a long episode, guys, but well worth a listen!
Read MoreMarvel is a word that, when said as a noun, means something that elicits amazement in the eyes of someone. For eleven years, to an entire world of filmgoers, a series of movies was precisely that, representing the changing tide of the whole cinematic landscape and a time when superheroes were not relegated to pulpy pages read by teens who frequented the nearest conventions. It was even the word that it went by.
Read MoreOne of my favorite bands of all time is Trivium. They were formed in 1999 and have since released 8 studio albums, with a new record set to release on Friday, April 24th.
