Mass Effect - N7 Day 2020 Retrospective
Welcome, everyone, to another edition of the Renegade Arcade! Today is N7 Day, which is a special day (held every November 7th) to commemorate and reminisce about Bioware’s seminal action-RPG series, Mass Effect! This particular day is a special one, as we finally (FINALLY!) receive the news we’ve all desperately wanted: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have won the election in the United States! Oh, wait, I meant that Bioware and EA are FINALLY giving us the original trilogy remaster that we’ve been waiting for! That’s right, friends, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will arrive in Spring 2021, and I cannot wait to revisit the ME universe in crystal clear 4K HDR form! More on this as it develops, but right now, grab an ice cold beverage, whether it’s human or Batarian-produced, sit back, and enjoy our podcast!
Not only does this episode feature awesome Mass Effect memories, it also is the official return of our buddy, Tony, to the Renegade Arcade! He joins myself, Tyler, and Brock as we chat about the characters, worlds, challenges, and even the romances that made our time in the ME universe so memorable and joyous. N7 Day has always proven to be an oasis for me over the years, and this one was made even more special as this year has been… Well, it’s been hell, I’m not going to lie. Anyway, hope springs eternal, my friends, and we have hopefully turned the corner on multiple levels, not the least of which is finally seeing this epic announcement trailer:
Just look at that awesomeness. Feel that music. Behold those character models. Bask in its glory.
Speaking of which, let’s also read Bioware’s blog post announcing more details about the Legendary Edition, which includes all of the DLC and bonus packs for the trilogy! I cannot wait to play through these games yet again, and I’ll hopefully have polished off Mass Effect Andromeda beforehand, so I can say that I’ve played the entire series of games!
UPDATE: So one of the things we wanted to add to this post was a reaction video that Brock and I recorded during the Mass Effect cast reunion panel which was held on Youtube on N7 Day! Here’s a link to the original video without us talking over it, and we have ours embedded below. It’s my first on-camera appearance, so please excuse my strange face and mannerisms! It was a lot of fun and a great way to commemorate one of the better days of this year so far. Hope you enjoy this first glimpse into the future of RPC’s content!
By the way, guys, please share and support the GoFundMe campaign for Mass Effect cast member (and Battlestar Galactica actor) Michael Hogan, who suffered a severe brain injury as a result of a fall in February. If you can, please donate. Go here for more details: https://www.gofundme.com/f/michael-hogan-fund
And with all that said, I bid you all farewell and Keelah Se’lai, my friends! We hope that RPC is your favorite website on the Citadel, and we implore you to please stay tuned for more content! We love you all, and we’re grateful for your time spent listening to our show and reading these articles! Be safe, take care, and let the healing of our nation begin!
And now, in the immortal words of Commander Shepard… I should go.
Welcome back to the stage of history and another episode of the Renegade Arcade! Keona, Tyler, and Brock are back to discuss the Last of Us HBO series casting news, along with some Call of Duty Zombies chatter, Epic Game Store’s upcoming exclusive PC release of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, more Resident Evil Village/Lady Dimitrescu analysis, and some fighting game news to top it all off! We’re a little late with this episode, so please forgive us! Now let’s get the party started!
