Hello and welcome to another edition of Fresh Takes with Mike and Brock! Today the dynamic duo discuss the mid-series climax of Gurren Lagann, entitled “I Will Head Towards Tomorrow”! Simon and Team Dai-Gurren finally stand face to face with their mortal enemy, Lord Genome, Viral makes a forget-me-not cameo, and Nia rides with Simon in Lagann to face her father. What an awesome way to open up this episode of Fresh Takes, wouldn’t you say? I won’t spoil it, just watch it! “Pierce the heavens with your drill!” I love it!
Now, with that said, let me just say that this episode was incredible from start to finish! This is how you do a season finale/mid-series climactic battle episode! As Mike says, it feels like a series finale in terms of its quality and scope. A lot of stuff goes down, and I really don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t seen it. So I’m going to cut these notes short, but rest assured, the first time you see this episode, you’re in for a treat!
One final note: Lazengann rocks! I love that mecha design and I’m so excited to see what happens next in the show! Check it out if you’ve never seen it before, because you’re in for a treat! I love this show! ‘Til next time, be safe, Renegades!
