The DC Fandome Sequel! - Renegade Capes #15
Tonight, on a stuffed episode of Renegade Capes, the DC Fandome returns! Likewise, so do The Director and Kay-Rah to talk about the announcements with Captain Kaye and OrganoidZero!
How’s it going, fellow Renegades? Welcome back to the latest episode of Renegade Capes! A show that… truth be told, is mostly determined given the landscape of cape related media! And there is no bigger cornucopia of crime fighting capers than the DC Fandome: the event that effectively killed any chance of Warner Brothers or Marvel Studios EVER deciding to go to Comic Con ever again. Think the Playstation Showcases, but for DC everything!
It was quite a packed show, but we took it upon ourselves to recap and give our thoughts on the big announcements they showed off this year. Which while there wasn’t much, I do think that given that most of their projects are about to enter pre-production or are a long ways away, what we got was pretty alright all things considered. And hey, it got ME AND KRISTAL back on the podcast again! So there’s net positives!
Finally, I just want to say a quick word: in the time since we recorded this, almost immediately after the stream of the event, word has gotten out about the treatment that Ruby Rose had suffered from during her tenure on the CW’s Batwoman show. While there are only allegations at this time, with the evidence she has provided as well as the slanderous counter-claims made by an official statement from WarnerMedia, we here at Renegade Pop Culture stand by Rose’s claims.
In this exciting episode of Capes, Organoid Zero, Captain Kaye, and Neoplasmic discuss the recently announced James Gunn and Peter Safran-led DCU movie slate! Highlights of the soft reboot include a new version of the Man of Steel in Superman: Legacy, the debut of the Bat-family in The Brave and the Bold, Viola Davis’ return in the HBO Max series Waller, and the first big screen adaptation of Wildstorm’s The Authority.
