Maya and The Three Amigos! - Renegade Animation #39 (Feat. Rosa Reviews)
Tonight, on a magical episode of Renegade Animation, our boys Captain Kaye and the Animation Guru are joined by Rosa from Rosa Reviews to talk Jorge Gutierrez's brand new Netflix miniseries: Maya and the Three!
How’s it going, fellow Renegades! We've got an accidentally fitting Dia De Los Muertos themed episode (even if it’s a day late) as we get ethnical! One of my all time favorite Mexican creators, Jorge Gutierrez (Mucha Lucha’s last season, The Book of Life, and of course, the wildly underrated El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera), has just released his newest animated project thanks to Netflix in the form of Maya and the Three Amigos! And in the spirit of the season, we even brought on a special guest with Rosa from Rosa Reviews and Latinx Lens!
It’s a very special episode that I think you guys will definitely enjoy, I definitely appreciated it as a Hispanic man myself. So… without any further adieu, I’ll go ahead and kick it over to the Captain himself. TAKE IT AWAY!
MAYA AND THE THREE (2021)
“Maya and the Threee is Jorge R. Gutierrez's masterpiece! It's gorgeously animated, the story feels cinematic, and these characters are filled to the brim with heart and humor. And if you're a fan of Jorge's previous works, there are plenty of fun easter eggs throughout the series.” - Captain Kaye
